Aurelio Cachimuel

Handbag Artisan

With over two decades of craftsmanship, Aurelio Cachimuel’s journey began in the world of traditional handmade textiles—working with wool, handwoven fabrics, and ponchos crafted on ancestral looms. As markets evolved, Aurelio adapted his artistry, transitioning into leatherwork while preserving the same dedication to quality and heritage.

Each of Aurelio’s handbags and backpacks begins with carefully selected full-grain leather, which is treated and prepared by specialized workshops. From there, every piece is thoughtfully assembled, incorporating sourced straps, hardware, and fine details that bring each design to life. The process is meticulous—taking up to two days to complete a single bag—ensuring that every item reflects both durability and craftsmanship.

Aurelio’s path has taken him across the world in pursuit of opportunity and sustainability for his craft. Having lived in the United States for twenty years, Europe for five, and Argentina for one, he has continuously sought new markets to support his work in the face of growing competition and changing tourism landscapes.

At the heart of his work is family. As a father of five, Aurelio has built his life and legacy through his hands—each piece he creates representing not only his skill, but his resilience, dedication, and commitment to providing for those he loves.
